Install hangs on Proliant 1600

Have you tried to boot a live-CD like Knoppix (really good hardware
detection) or Morphix-Gnome (my favorite).  You can troubleshoot
hardware issues prior to any install and can apply whatever you learn to
installing Fedora (or what ever you finally chose to use).
