investigating frequent crashes

Hi all,

I have a machine running RHEL AS 3 which mainly runs a small mail and web 
server. Recently, it crashes quite often (once a week maybe) for yet 
unknown reasons. Do you have any general advice on how to investigate such 
a problem? I know I can run a memory test. Any other hardware tests? What 
to look for in which log file?
