mount windows shared dir

Ok,
I just installed XMMS and got an mp3 player working,
but there is no sound. No sound when I play a DVD and
no sound when I play mp3's.
I checked the volume properties and everything is up
and mute button is unchecked.
Can you help me with this, please.
