Its getting there I think.  I have both the RHCE and LPIC-1, and both
exams are definitely worth taking IMO.  I saw an ad in the paper for a
Senior Linux Engineer position with Computer Associates a few months ago
and they wanted you to have either an RHCE or LPIC.  Do a job search for
LPI and see what comes up.
