Blacklisting the nouveau driver in modprobe.d is how many of us choose
the proprietary Nvidia drivers over nouveau.  In fact, AtRPMS.net has
nvidia RPMs which do this automatically for RHEL 5 and Fedora systems
and I'm fairly certain he has a RHEL 6 repo available as well.
