Yes, just regard the origional installation as not to be used. Just like 
installing RH next to a totally different OS.

Since you use 2 separate disks, you can opt to disconnect the origional disk, 
then install RHEL on what it can find.

After restoring the connection to the origional disk and boot that OS, tell its 
bootloader there is an other OS installed on the second disk and it can use that 
for booting too.
