This makes sense.  EL3 runs a 2.4.x series kernel while EL4 uses 2.6.x.
There is no way that driver disk would work.

Now... from what I was able to dig up:

The ASR-2005S has been broken in I2O since 2.6 was released.  Only
recently has there been a patch to fix this.  It is likely that RedHat
has not included this driver for stability reasons as it was a fairly
recent patch in relation to the time EL4 was frozen.

Search for '2005S'.

I wouldn't count on being able to install EL4 on the volume hosted by
that controller.  You should either stick with EL3 or you could go
through the rather hairy process of rebuilding the installer image with
the kernel image and initrd you need.

Though... I could be wrong.
