I have the same problem with my machines, and it seems to me that
it happens every time there is a new version of the "up2date" program.
If I update my machines manually everything works fine until next time
a new version of "up2date" is released. Another strange thing is, that
up2date and related packages do not appear on my rhn.redhat.com
administration page, while the up2date program on my machines tells me
that these packages need to be upgraded. And some times I have to
re-start the RHN alert icon in order to make it aware, that there are
packages to be upgraded.
