I have tried installing both ways that you mention (as root and su -
user), but I get the same message. I tried to run the command "xhost
+root, and xhost +oracle" and I receive the error "xhost: bad hostname
"root" or "oracle" depending upon which I use. I am running the command
as root. Any more suggestions?
