Hello Folks,
Its because of "setuid" permission issue. If you want to install Oracle
application please login as a normal user (regular user it could be
oracle ) once you logged IN open a terminal and issue "xhost + " alone.
Then start firing the Oracle installer from the appropriate path. This
should work for you.

Are you logging in as root then su - oracle?
Have you tried logging in as oracle from the login prompt? (I think root
for some reason doesn't want to give up it's xhost.)
