[rhn-users] SATA Controller Support

Hi

I have a Dell PowerEdge SC430 system.  RHEL3 AS up to Update 5 does not recognise the SATA controllers in the system.  Update 6 and Update 7 does include support for x86 installation.

Does anyone know why the same support would not be included in the Update 6 and Update 7 releases of RHEL3 AS for the x86_64 platform?

When installing the OS, it says it's loading the ata_piix driver, but fails to find any disks.

Bios Version : A02
OS : Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon Update 7)
Kernel Version : Linux server 2.4.21-40.ELsmp #1 SMP Thu Feb 2 22:22:39 EST 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
