0.6 includes a clarification for the virt types and relables the GUI to 
offer the following choices:

* None Or KVM Virtualized Guest
* Para-Virtualized Host
* XEN Para-Virtualized Guest
* XEN Fully-Virtualized Guest

the short answer for you is to pick "KVM Virtualized Guest".  That 
choice will not effect your kernel selection for the machines you 
provision with that choice.
