New day, same problems. Turned down spacewalk, osad-dispatcher, bounced oracle, restarted spacewalk, restarted osad-dispatcher (and I *still* want to know why the osad-dispatcher, if it's necessary, is not started when I start spacewalk with rhn-satellite).

This time, after deleting the system, when I attempted to register, I added -vvv and *not* --force to the rhnreg_ks command line, and got *something*:
sudo /usr/sbin/rhnreg_ks -vvv --serverUrl=http://<myspacewalkserver>/XMLRPC --activationkey=<valid activation key>

Same web traceback - not connected to Oracle.

Interesting thought: when the registration ends, I see on the server that the parent channel is subscribed to, but not the child channels. Now, the way I have it set up is an empty parent channel, and base, updates, addons and extras (and client tools) under that, with packages. Does anyone know if that might be my problem - that there's nothing in the parent, only in the children?

       mark
