Indeed, as I mentioned it is a bit of a hack, I didn't have time to check if 
it plays well if something is missing or wrong, etc.  I'll have a look at it 
when I have a moment.

Generally spacewalk-repo-sync prints number of packages found in the repo so 
if you only see e.g. only 14 you have included for EPEL instead of thousands 
normally in there then it is working :)

Also note that I only use the --type=yumsubset option for repos which I have 
in that config file (i.e. those I want to limit), all others are synced 
without it which defaults to type=yum and gets all packages.
