How many channels do you have?
You may have just cleared all the packages. Your repository sync schedule will determine this resyncing of packages "old" or not.

So is this a brand new spacewalk 2.0 or an old spacewalk 0.2 install?

I have centos 5/6 32 and 64 bit channels and use about ~40GB for repos.
