Hello Waldirio,

Yes you’re right, I’m trying to subscribe centos 5 on i386 to 32bit channel:

[root at client /]# uname -a
Linux client 2.6.18-308.16.1.el5 #1 SMP Tue Oct 2 22:01:37 EDT 2012 i686

Repository: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5/updates/i386/

But when I’m trying to create a new channel I don’t see plain “x86” among the architectures, only x86_64 more or less related: http://postimg.org/image/chgp0ncdn/

Do you think that is an issue?


P.S.:
OEL5 x86 channel is a channel with repository subscribed to ULN uln:///ol5_i386_latest
CentOS5 x86 Channel is a channel with repository subscribed to http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5/updates/i386/

Your repo is to 32bits (http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5/updates/i386/), I'm not sure about your channel, maybe you had defined as 64bits, it this case will not appear in the list.

About your description, "OEL5 x86 channel" is the same as "CentOS5 x86 Channel" ?!, I believe yes.

Let me know if your problem is the arch.

Channel Label*: centos5_x86_channel

3. Sync channel to ULN

Channels -> Manage Software Channels -> OEL5 x86 channel -> Repositories ->
Sync

4. Create a key

Systems -> Activation Keys -> Create new key
Description centos5-x86-key
Key: 2-centos5-x86-key
Base Channels: CentOS5 x86 Channel

Client Side:

[root at client /]# uname -a
Linux client 2.6.18-308.16.1.el5 #1 SMP Tue Oct 2 22:01:37 EDT 2012 i686
i686 i386 GNU/Linux
[root at client ~]# cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS release 5.10 (Final)

[root at client /]# yum install  rhn-client-tools rhn-check rhn-setup rhnsd
m2crypto
[root at client /]# rhnreg_ks --serverUrl=http://server/XMLRPC
--activationkey=2-oel5-x86-key

Checking in Spacewalk:

Systems -> client -> Subscribed Channels (Alter Channel Subscriptions) ->
http://postimg.org/image/5xmjl70bd/

The question is why I see "(none, disable service)" in Base Software channel
for centos 5 instead if the list of configured channels?

Just to compare, following the same steps I see for centos 6 system:
