Hello,

thanks! That explains everything.

Now kickstarting works like a charm.

Any ideas how to use kickstarting without dhcp more "general". I know, entering ip= gateway= netmask= and dns= isnt that hard, but Im just curious how you use it. And we have some DAUs here ...

kind regards,
Philipp

Hello,

I think it's expected.

>From Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 installation guide: [1]

20.1.1. Deprecated and Removed Boot Options

askmethod, asknetwork

"The installation program's initramfs is now completely non-interactive,
which means that these options are not available anymore. Instead, use
the inst.repo= to specify the installation method and ip= to configure
network settings."
