Have you tried the spacewalk-manage-channel-lifecycle utility?

RPM which provides the utility: spacewalk-utils

/usr/bin/spacewalk-manage-channel-lifecycle --help

Examples:

List the base channels and child channels
        /usr/bin/spacewalk-manage-channel-lifecycle -u $conf{org1user} -p
$conf{spacepass} -s $conf{org1url} -c $fromchnl --list-channels

-n dry run ---> see if this is what you want to do.
--archive  --> Create an archive

Use the following to clone channels individually:
        /usr/bin/spacewalk-manage-channel-lifecycle -u $conf{org1user} -p
$conf{spacepass} -s $conf{org1url} -c $fromchnl --no-children --promote

Remove --no-children and specify -c {basechannel}. This is if you want
to clone the entire base channel and all of its children

- Thanks
