We have a couple of patches for that exact error in Uyuni:

https://github.com/uyuni-project/uyuni/pull/1282
https://github.com/uyuni-project/uyuni/pull/1315

Maybe they can be ported to Spacewalk - but naturally a better option might be to migrate to Uyuni itself.
