Hi Brett,
Since you are not giving any details on your config, I just make a guess.
Here are some steps that you could try that might solve your problem:
1.) Try updating your kernel to >= 4.5.2 for the halt_poll_ns reduced
default value [1].
2.) Recompile your kernel with 1000Hz clock resolution and Voluntary
Preemption Model.
