Considering the actual, electrical parallel ATAPI interface on the
device probably runs at only UltraDMA mode 2 (Ultra33) or maybe UltraDMA
mode 4 (Ultra66), the SATA only adds overhead.

Until I see the SATA controllers -- and their OS drivers -- implemented
with the full ATAPI command set/registers, you want to stand clear of
SATA ATAPI devices like optical drives.

I just use the same 3-pin connector regularly, except I move the
appropriate pin to the middle. I have the exact same ASRock mainboard,
only in the Socket-754 flavor, and that's what I did.

I've also noted the front panel header is the same on all new ASRock,
Foxconn Channel and Gigabyte Socket-754/939 desktop mainboards.
Something like ...

 PWRLED PWRON
   o o o o
   o o o o o
  HDLED RESET

The speaker is on its own, and a few mainboards then have a 3-pin PWRLED
option separate.
