Problems with Ubuntu 14.04

I avoid Ubuntu for a number of reasons, including its reputation for
instability, which has been noted by a number of commentators including former
Ubuntu developers critical of the release process.

Arch, CentOS, Debian or Fedora (among others) would, I think, be better
options.

I think Ubuntu are doing interesting work on user interface development with
their Unity desktop environment. I also think it's unfortunate that they are
taking their own direction with the Mir display server and in other areas,
instead of working with the rest of the Linux community more cooperatively. In
the end, I don't subscribe to Mark Shuttleworth's vision, and I suppose that's
where I part company respectfully with Ubuntu.
