Samba Probleme xp - Fedora

Hallo,

Es ist zum Mäuse melken. Samba lief bis vor meiner neu installation von 
Fedora 3 tip top. Jetzt habe ich meinen Fedora Server neu installiert 
und es will einfach nicht laufen. Seit sonntag morgen bin ich am 
googeln, und Howto am lesen und ausprobieren aber es will einfach nicht. 
Hier ist mein Problem:

Auf  dem XP sehe ich den Linux, wenn ich ihn anwähle kommt die folgende 
Meldung:

    "auf //SERVER kann nicht zugegriffen werden . sei haben evtl. keine 
Berechtigung deise Netzwerkresource zu benutzen.....
    Der Netzwerkpfad wurde nicht gefunden."

Auf dem Linux sehe ich mein lokales Netz nicht. Das heist den XP sehe 
ich nicht.

Ein Ping von XP nach Linux mehrmals hintereinander funktioniert wei ein 
Blinker -- geht, geht nicht , geht nur zur hälfte-----

Eigentlich sollte ich ja seit Samstag wieder arbeiten.
